Welcome!
Welcome to my little corner of joy! I'm Jennifer; Pittsburgh mom of five, lifelong reader and children's book author. My stories are here to make kids giggle, feel brave, and fall in love with reading, one page at a time.

Current Book
Every child longs for the reassurance of their father’s unconditional love - even when they fall short of expectations.Just Because I’m Me invites you on a journey through a curious little girl’s imagination. With each playful “what if,” she discovers a powerful truth: love that never changes, no matter what. Through gentle reassurance and heartfelt moments, this story celebrates confidence, individuality, and the unbreakable bond between parent and child.

About the Author
Gripped in the chokehold of poverty, I was born and raised by my mother, who gave me a foundation of love and faith, and the love of reading at an early age. Her hard work and persistence made my life rich with gratitude, perseverance, resiliency and the will to never give up! She read to me every night. By using different voices and sounds she kept me engaged through every page and I never wanted the stories to end. Books like The House that had enough by P.E. King taught me how to value and respect my things while, Mufaro’s Beautiful daughters by John Steptoe taught me kindness trumps wickedness and allows you to be Queen of your own village. Often catching public transportation with people from all walks of life, it wasn’t uncommon for arguments and waves of chaos to break lose. To prevent a tsunami of peace breaking proportions my sister would tell me whimsical stories to distract me from our surroundings. By first grade I wrote my first story when my teacher Ms. Difflipo introduced me to the art center where we could use ribbons, stickers, scissors and more to create art as we imagined. This is why the animals that Baby Girl imagined in her journey were left uncolored in my book Just Because I’m me, because throughout life we will all have experiences that will shape us and we have to decide what choices and feelings we will embrace and what ultimately adds color to our world. Unconditional love and acceptance from her father helped Baby Girl to understand she was loved just because she was herself. My biggest masterpiece to date is the art of being authentically me an I unveil new pieces as time and experiences shape me. As a divorced single mother to 5, former foster parent, and survivor of domestic abuse, a survivor medical negligence having over 8 surgeries after the birth of my twins; I used my contentment with crayons, colored pencils, paper and pens to overcome the many trials I have faced in life. My creativity allows me to turn each obstacle into stepping- stones that have made me into the person I am today. Outside of writing and mom life, enjoy animals whether I am looking at them or hearing birds in nature. I remember being a kid and seeing a beautiful talking Parrot at Gc Murphy’s downtown in Pittsburgh. This memory has sparked my next book I plan to release before the end of the year. The goal is to write 7 – 10 children’s books ranging for ager 5-11 I would love to learn how to dance though the only rhythm I have is through the poems I enjoy writing and I would love to learn to crochet blankets for the sick or to make beautiful doll dresses like my mom and sister used to make.
My goal is to produce stories that are both joyful and memorable, inspired by my children, friends and family I desire to write books that spread positivity and good morals. I desire to eventually use profits from my book for my start up Joyful Blooming Learning Center which will be a place that will help others with literacy and more. To experience a book is to experience an adventure and no matter what walk of life a person has all should be able to experience this. What a privilege and honor it is to be able to write books for our youth. My motto is “We can all bloom it doesn’t matter when; you will when you begin!” I want everyone to be joyful in blooming and good books promote growth!
